MEET KRISTEN DIBATTISTA
Meet Kristen DiBattista, one of our Lead Designers at Clearspace.
Kristen’s journey into the world of interior design began long before she realized it could be a career. As a child, her earliest memories include creating floor plans with Lego blocks and being captivated by design shows. This early fascination sparked a lifelong passion, but it wasn’t until a high school career meeting that she discovered interior design as a professional path. From that “aha” moment, she set her sights on design and never looked back.
After completing her studies in interior design at Humber College, Kristen’s career took off with an internship on Hudson’s Bay’s store planning and design team, where she worked on projects across Canada and the United States. This experience allowed her to develop a deep understanding of spatial planning on a large scale. Moving into a design-build firm soon after, Kristen gained firsthand construction experience, learning to appreciate every detail involved in building from the ground up. This hands-on knowledge would become foundational in her approach to design.
Kristen joined Clearspace as one of its earliest team members. Since then, she has grown alongside the company, advancing from project work to leading a team and managing a diverse range of projects, from model suites to tenant spaces. Her portfolio includes high-profile projects, model suites for GWL, and, most recently, the Hines project at T3 Sterling Road. Kristen’s keen design sensibility and understanding of construction allow her to bring a unique blend of creativity and practicality to each project she undertakes.

Outside of work, Kristen enjoys balancing her creative side with a focus on wellness. She is a regular at yoga, Pilates, and spinning classes, finding these moments essential for unwinding and recharging. Kristen also loves baking, experimenting with different recipes whenever she can. Her dog, Ben, is her constant companion and “design partner,” often joining her on outdoor adventures and providing an extra boost of joy to her day. Known around the office as a friendly, loyal presence, Ben adds warmth and fun to Kristen’s life and inspires her creative spirit.
Kristen’s journey at Clearspace continues to be marked by growth, both personally and professionally. Her passion for creating inspiring spaces that reflect her clients’ unique needs has become her signature, helping shape the future of Clearspace with each new project she takes on.
