MEET KEVIN MARQUES

Kevin Marques is the Director of Construction at Clearspace, he has over 23 years of hands-on experience in construction and a passion for building exceptional spaces. Kevin’s journey started at 16 when a high school co-op program introduced him to the trades. He quickly discovered a love for electrical work, which set him on a 12-year path as a licensed electrician. His expertise spans residential, high-rise, industrial, and civil projects, but he found his true calling in interior office fit-outs—what he now considers the best type of construction.

Kevin’s story at Clearspace began with a leap of faith. After over a decade in the field, he joined a Clearspace sister company helping launch and install innovative charging stations across North America. This experience laid the foundation for his transition to Clearspace, where he applied his technical skills to redefine office build-outs. As one of the first team members, Kevin played multiple roles, from site supervisor to procurement lead, even assembling furniture and glazing systems by hand.

Since Clearspace’s inception, Kevin’s role has evolved into leading construction operations. Today, he oversees complex projects and teams, making sure that every office space is as functional as it is beautiful. His favourite part of the job? Seeing the joy and excitement on clients' faces when they step into their newly completed spaces—offices where people will spend a significant part of their lives.

Mentor and Motivator

Kevin is passionate about cultivating the next generation of construction professionals. He finds immense fulfillment in mentoring junior team members, guiding them from their first steps on-site to becoming seasoned project leaders. By sharing his knowledge freely, Kevin aspires to change the industry, countering the traditional reluctance to teach and empowering his team to deliver projects that exceed expectations.

Beyond the Worksite

Outside of work, Kevin’s world revolves around his family. He cherishes time with his two daughters, aged 10 and 5, who keep him busy with dance, gymnastics, skating, and guitar lessons. A lifelong hockey enthusiast, Kevin plays in a Sunday men’s league, a tradition he’s kept alive for over 20 years with the same team.

Kevin also enjoys working on his cars, and gardening, where he finds parallels to his professional life—nurturing growth and reaping the rewards of patience and care.
